Biosamples can be compromised by poor temperature control. Biosample shippers often have inadequate insulation and short endurance in warm ambients, and suffer from freezing of the sample through pack-out errors and cold ambient temperatures. RoBio Systems shippers achieve closer control of temperature, reduced size and weight and make pack-out intuitive to maximise shipping success.

Chillax One – shipping at 1-2ºC

Chillax One is designed to protect better against risk of sample freezing than any previous cool shipper. The design uses active heating and electronic temperature control to hold the sample space accurately close to 1ºC, without risk of freezing the sample. High performance vacuum panel outer insulation plus high thermal capacity ice-packs give unprecedented endurance – more than 5 days at continuous ambient 48ºC; more than 14 days at ambient 19ºC. Active temperature control prevents freezing of the sample when coolant is loaded or in low temperature ambients. Pack-out of the shipper is intuitive, needs no conditioning of coolant, and is almost completely tolerant of packing errors. Chillax One is ideal for high value samples where packing might be done by non-specialist personnel.

Chillax Five – shipping at 2-8ºC

Chillax Five is a passive temperature control version of Chillax One and protects samples with vacuum panel outer insulation, 2-8ºC phase change material coolant packs and internal insulation designed to offset the high cooling capacity. Pack-out is simple and intuitive, reducing risk of errors. Endurance is shorter than Chillax One – over 4 days at 24ºC ambient – but better than conventional shippers of the same compact size and weight. Conditioning of the coolant is needed for all 2-8C PCM shippers: the RoBio Systems design means conditioning time is non-critical and can be chosen to maximise endurance.
